This Is Not A Test

Hey. You, over there with your iPod. Yeah, come here. Let’s talk.

In two years as a producer, I haven’t taken a week off of producing a show… until now.

Excuses are easy to come by, but I’ll just say that the last month has been extraordinary, and I’m at my limit. Something had to give this week, and unfortunately Wine Biz Radio drew the short straw.

So, I’m using this as an opportunity to solicit feedback from you, our listening audience, to determine what’s good about Wine Biz Radio, as well as what’s missing: what aren’t we doing that would make this radio show the one podcast you can’t live without? What guests are we overlooking? Is the long interview format working? Will we ever do the show in anything other than our underwear? Please leave a comment and let us know. Every comment is valuable, except the ones left by 1WineDude (Seriously, Joe: you have our condolences on your family’s loss. Even losing a family member that has lived a long life is a burden to bear, and we’ll be thinking of you).

On the upside, next week September will start off with a ridiculous bang as Rick Bakas, Kaz Winery and Wine Biz Radio are hosting the first Wine Country Tweetup next week (all tickets are spoken for)! And guess who the guest will be: everyone at the tweetup! We expect it to be one of the most interesting and reckless shows we’ve ever done.

So, again, I offer my apologies, not just to our excellent sponsor, Cornerstone Cellars, who will naturally get an extra episode tacked onto their sponsorship term, but to all of you listeners out there who have supported us over the fantastic journey that has been the last couple years. See you all next week!

There comes a seminal moment in every wine blogger's experience. That moment is when they are profiled and interviewed by your favorite hosts, Kaz and Randy, on Wine Biz Radio! Yeah, whatever... Shana Ray and Ashley Routson start things off, talking about their nationwide road trip series, dubbed Project Y-ine, aimed at finding out the drinking behaviors of Generation Y aka Millennials aka Those Young People Who Grew Up In The Internet Age. As the interview progresses, it becomes clear that these two women are in for the adventure of a lifetime: think Thelma & Louise without all that driving-off-a-cliff nonsense. Next, there's Russ Beebe, Winehiker and proprietor of California Wine Hikes, who visits with Kaz and Randy to discuss his history, his passion, and his love of hiking in wine country. All the news that's fit for your ears. That's us: that's Wine Biz Radio! There comes a seminal moment in every wine blogger’s experience.
