Thanks for thinking of our wines for Wine Blogging Wednesday. We appreciate the plug!

You made me thirsty for a nice frizzante white. But woe to me the cellar was empty (of fizzy whites that is). I had to settle for a hard cider.

Looking forward to visiting Kaz' vineyard!

You definitely get extra credit--slightly frizzante, a black cork, and under $20? Maybe double extra credit. Thanks for participating and for the great review. (Good luck with the smoker this summer, Randy!)

Thanks for the mention guys. I'm not sure what the ultimate end game is for either Wine 2.0 or the OWC, but I'm guessing that the story one way, or another, will be written in '08.

All the best to some darn fine and fun radio work,

Thank you, as always, for the kind things that you say about The Wine Spies. Please look for the envelope filled with unmarked bills in our usual dead-drop.

Great guest, by the way. We spies are huge fans of Tom Wark and we applaud the efforts that he makes on behalf of the wine industry.

Does anyone really care about the "American Wine Blog Awards"???

Ask him how he was able to pull off that amazing feat of winning his second Poker Tournament in only 6 different tournaments.

Or

Ask him how his Golf Game is progressing.

And...

I'm sure everyone wants to know how he thinks the Giants will do this year.

Hey guys!
I'm from Nashville TN and I listen to your show on podcast while driving in between wine stores. I work for a distributor and I am soaking up everything I can about wine. Your show helps me to understand the things that actually go on in Wine Country. You guys are a trip! I'm heading out that way late April and I will make sure to stop by and say hi. Keep doing what you are doing, because I (and I'm sure many other people) appreciate your show.

RE: Your http://drinkthegoodstuff.blogspot.com question

Thanks for the question guys. Sorry we were unable to answer you in a timely fashion! As you may know, wine blogging is not the primary job for most people and our blog was a playful extension of the short-lived online wine magazine bonvivantwineguide.com.

The good news is the blog remains and the editors were able to take advantage of a number of opportunities that arose because of the blog and the site.

Executive editor, Jennifer Frank is currently writing a wine book for Penguin Publishing's Alpha Books division called "Wine: At Your Fingertips." While, I can be seen (good or bad) in the upcoming PBS show "The Wine Makers." For those that may be interested there is a You Tube trailer up on the blog.

Finally, our lessons learned from our days on the web have actually pushed Jennifer and I back into the "real world" with a brick and mortar store hopefully opening in Lower Manhattan in the near future. But fear not as we will also be selling wine online through the store's website at www.cawinemerchants.com

Again, thanks for mentioning our blog in your piece.

Cheers!

The Robinson you were discussing is Jancis and she is a Master of Wine from England.
We agree to a certain extent with the comments you were making about the Napa Valley Register article "men are from Parker, women are from Robinson". Ms. Robinson tends to write about a wine experience, rather than assigning numbers to wines. Robert Parker with his rating system feeds the mentality of those who like baseball stats. Its all about the numbers.

Hi Guys, thanks for picking up my adventure. A few comments:

1) Sorry I missed your place, Kaz. My first day took an unexpected Napa detour when I got an invite from the Luna winemaker to visit - I was going to hit all of the Kenwood/Glen Ellen stuff that day. I guarantee a visit next time 'round.
2) I wish I was drunk when those punks lightened up my wallet, but I had to take that incident mildly buzzed after a half-bottle of Bella. And I was not comp'ed a dinner!
3) Yes, most of the wineries were the bigger names, but I tried to stop at a few smaller names as well - Bella, Unti and Verite are not the big wineries with the bus tours going through. The problem is I am terribly disorganized, so calling ahead and booking appointments seems like a pain in the butt - our whole schedule was made up on the fly.

Thanks for the plug - I have added a link to this site under "Wine Media". Yep, that's you, above Parker I might add....PS - where did you get that T-Shirt?
Cheers!

Mercifully.

However, looking down the page of the Google results for that, I was troubled to find such recipes as "Mock Oyster (Eggplant) Casserole". And that it contains Cream of Mushroom soup is another strike against it.

You know it leaves me wondering how many liver-oyster-mushroom-eggplant casseroles will start showing up on my doorstep. I cannot suppress the shudder down my spine.

FYI: a google search on liver oyster mushroom eggplant casserole reveals "Wine Biz Radio" at the number one spot, but lucky for you, no *actual* recipes for Liver, Oyster, Mushroom, and Eggplant Casserole.

Dale,

Dang! I'm working on getting the podcast up on iTunes, I guess we need us a quick-and-dirty logo to get it going up there.

Thanks everybody for the comments and support!

Great show and lots of fun... Spy Dog's ego is growing, which may become a problem. She's already the boss of our secret lair here in Los Angeles. Cheers!
