Kaz makes a habit of psychotic introductions to the show, and he and Randy talk some viticulture goodness during frost season. Then they get a caller to promote the Day of Responsible Hospitality (to support Project Graduation in Sonoma County) this Wednesday from noon to 5 p.m. at Empire College in Santa Rosa. Next is recognizing the winners of the American Wine Blog Awards, and wrapping up with excerpts from Tim Elliot’s WinecastUnfiltered
that Kaz and Randy participated with.
Listen up, Spring fever has come to the best hour of wine radio!
Kaz breaks the meter with his intro while Randy tries his best to mitigate the damage. They both review an award-winning wine from Virginia, and they examine the American Wine Blog Awards, including the ruckus in the wine blogging community that resulted from the naming of the finalists. All that, and the latest wine news and blog love. Listen up, people!
Kaz goes Irish! Kaz goes drunkard! There’s no end to the facets of this man. Kaz and Randy invite Greg Hittelman into the studio to talk about next month’s Sonoma Film Festival. Randy also summarizes his weekend experience at the Savor Sonoma Valley barrel tasting event, with a bonus call in from our South Bay correspondent, Scott! Then it’s all the latest blog and local news fit to be stuffed into your ears. Have a listen!
Kaz is gone and Randy is left to soldier on. That’s okay, it’s a call-in show! Joel Vincent of Wine Life Today and OpenWine Consortium rings in to chat about Amazon.com’s entrance (re-entrance?) into the wine industry. Then a horticulturalist calls to discuss the appearance of a single light brown apple moth (LBAM) in Sonoma. Put a haiku about wine at the top of the show and stuff the latest wine news in between, and you get the Encyclopedia of Useless Information! Have a listen!
So, I don’t like to meta-blog (that’s the term that says I don’t like talking about things pertaining to this website - problems, gripes, whatever - by using this website as a soapbox), but I’m experiencing some delays getting the raw recordings of our shows from our friends at KSVY and wanted to say that I’ll get Monday’s show up as soon as I get my hands on the recording.
I’m also going to try and take steps to rely just a little less on our community radio station partners, just in case we run into long delays again. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Kaz and Randy have Joel Vincent of the OpenWine Consortium call in to discuss the group’s genesis and what it’s out to accomplish. Add in the usual useless information that you’ve come to expect, and a special treat: Kaz and Randy do radio theatre! Listen up, this stuff is priceless!
