Kaz goes a little fruity and Randy spouts the latest wine industry news. Oh, and they play host to Josie Gay, Executive Director of Heart of Sonoma Valley Association (HOSVA) to talk about that group’s activities, including the big Savor Sonoma Valley barrel tasting and food event coming March 15-16.
You can start to tell that Kaz and Randy need Spring to come to Sonoma soon, all this gloom is making them crazy!
John Green of Grange Sonoma sits in with Kaz and Randy to discuss small producers banding together in a “tasting room collective”. Also, part two of the 2008 Unified Wine and Grape Symposium visit, and the headlines of the day!
Thanks to Don Sebastiani and Sons for their support of the radio show!
Kaz and Randy have wine industry insurance agent Chris Thwaites of Sevall, Thwaites & Soper Insurance Agency in the studio to talk about insuring your vineyard or winery against all manner of incidents, both benign and evil. Then there’s Tom Wark (of Wark Communications and Fermentation: The Daily Wine Blog) in the studio to discuss the top stories of the week. And the first installment of Kaz and Randy’s Unified Wine & Grape Symposium Adventure (what a mouthful!), where they find and interview the truly interesting folks that were at the big wine industry trade show in Sacramento last week.
Thanks to Don Sebastiani & Sons for helping to sponsor our show on KSVY-FM!

Tom Wark comes in for his umpteenth make-up day in the studio to talk about his latest stories, including the recent Texas district court decision that asserts that wine retailers do indeed benefit from Granholm v. Heald. Also Jill Bernheimer from domaine547.com calls in to talk about her wine shop so cleverly disguised by a blog, complete with the Hello Kitty of wine mascots. Just wait until you hear what her favorite TV show is. Also, be sure to listen for the discount code that will get you 10% off your domaine547.com purchase! Click to listen, we mean it!
Welcome to 2008! Kaz and Randy have Christopher Silva of St. Francis Winery in the studio to talk about the movement to get road signs posted marking the entrances of Sonoma Valley. The Wine Spies, and George calls in from the new Ty Caton/Muscardini tasting room. Oh, and they talk about news too!
We always have a good time in the studio, even if it’s just Kaz and myself. However, we truly shine when we have someone share the joy of hearing themselves on the radio.
Anyhow, I thought it would be interesting to see if any of our listeners had ideas for who they’d most like to hear us interview on Wine Biz Radio. You’ll get extra credit if we can actually interview them.
See you on Monday!
